The Weekly: Honey Edition

When Lance is away, Honey will play! The BF is out at a cigar bar with a friend but once he gets back Honey’s Sextacular Birthday Weekend will begin…I’ve already had one orgasm this afternoon to get the juices flowin’ so I’m ready for him when he gets home.

I personally am hoping for at least one more round in the pool and another with the camera…plus yesterday I was leaving for work and he was still in bed…hard and not wanting me to leave…so I would like some good old fashioned morning sex as well. It’s been too long. I tried to jump his bones when he got home from work that night because I was still so titillated from that morning, but he was starving so we ate dinner first and then I fell asleep on the couch. Damn job, still cockblocking me.

For non-sex-related activities, we are going to a wine and cheese bar that we’ve never been to before. I have been excellent at not overeating or overdrinking since starting my new job (out of an effort to fit into my job-appropriate clothes instead of buying more when the whole point of this job is to pay off my credit cards) but plan to do both this weekend and damn the consequences.

Not only have we not been kicked off Brazen Careerist, my online dating horror story made their front page this week, so I guess that means everyone out there has experienced something like it (or else I’m an object lesson that everyone would do well to avoid…whichever).

So links for you all to check out this week…I read this article on Yahoo! and it reminded me all over again why Lance and I started this blog. Apparently the key to breaking up (or being broken up with) is to maintain a picture-perfect facade on the outside until it becomes a reality. How unrealistic is that?! Plus I really don’t like the undertones to this article…the idea that acting happy is a

way of taking revenge or a way of manipulating the person into getting back together with you seems very unhealthy. If you’re going to be happy, do it for you–and if you’ve dumped or been dumped, then they weren’t right for you. The only rule I somewhat agree with is “don’t look back.”

However, I must say that I love, LOVE, LOVE the idea that Penguin booksellers had to create

“a place to meet and indulge in the age-old art of writing love letters.” Members will be asked to write in their profile about the last book they read and will also be able to search through the site’s other profiles for mentions of their favourite book.

It looks like this is a UK-specific endeavor right now, but they’re affiliated with Match so I really hope the trend spreads. I’m a huge reader and would have loved something like this when I was single.

Speaking of dating sites, we’re all aware (or you are now) that niche dating sites are now growing faster than general-interest dating sites like Match, and in case you’re interested in hopping on the Green bandwagon while searching for your sweetie, check out this article in the seattlepi.com that rates all your options…including

Oh, and in addition to my feature on Brazen Careerist, I had a guest post on The Pickup Podcast called “Talking About Television”…easily one of my favorite things to talk about.

And I thought I’d leave you with this disturbing evidence of sexism in our society…despite the fact that Miley Cyrus has received no end of shit for posing for Vanity Fair…Daniel Radcliffe (aka Harry Potter) somehow avoids censure despite his role in Equus, where he flirts with bestiality:

Have a great weekend, all.

Okay, the Yahoo article made me throw up in my mouth a little bit. Ugh! Really? I almost feel inspired to write my own…maybe. I mean, shouldn’t someone put a realistic spin on it? Need to give that some thought.

Saw the Brazen Careerist thing. You go girl! Yay!

Have an incredible sextacular birthday Honey!

Is Harry Potter giving my zebra video a run for the money? Haha.

Yeah, that’s interesting that we’re (okay, I’m) up in arms over Miley but don’t care about this guy. She’s only 15. How old is he, do you know?

I love how women can have an orgasm to get in the mood, and men save it all up for one ginormous release. Men and women are different.

Oh. My. God. Dating based on book taste??? I would have to dump Date #4 just to try it. Nerd to the core, I would love to see whether or not that works out.

Hello, any cute, single Salinger-de Botton-Hemingway-Kerouac fans out there? No?

Holly–I think that’s hilarious. I’d be tempted, too. Maybe they can just make a social network application for Myspace or something? There is a website called Shelfari, but I’m not sure it’s got features for meeting new people–just keeping track of what friends are reading (you get to see their reviews).

Your comment reminds me of the time that the BF and I toyed with the idea of trying speed dating just because it sounded like fun and neither of us had ever tried it. Sadly, we decided that a) that’s obviously unethical, b) we’d have to list everyone we met as a match to get a real idea of which of us was more desired–competing with each other, after all, being half the point of doing it, and c) we’d be totally obviously exchanging looks with each other all night whenever the person we were on a “date” with said something stupid.
