First of all, I mentioned in mid-June that I was starting Weight Watchers. I’ve lost about 14 pounds and just this week was able to start wearing my size 4 pants again. This makes me officially skinnier than I was when Jake and I started dating. I remember when we started dating I’d always bring my laundry over to his place (I didn’t have machines in my apartment, which was a duplex so I’d been going to a wash and fold) and he’d do it all for me…
One day I came over to hang out and he said that when he did my clothes he looked at the label and could barely contain himself: “My girlfriend’s a size 6!!!”
Well, last night we went out for a couple of beers and when I told him that my jeans were a size 4, he said that he didn’t think he’d ever dated a girl who was a size 4 before. It really turned him on! I’m currently at 133 or so. When I started, my original goal was 120. I’m not sure I’m going to be that ambitious, largely because I’m currently a D cup and I think my boobs will deflate if I lose too much more. I would like to get below 130, which for someone 5’3″ is pretty good. I have a fancy scale that calculates all sorts of things in addition to your weight and it says that I still have a little fat left to lose before I’m in a healthy range. Though again, if it’s boob fat I’m keeping it
In other exciting news, Monday is my 30th birthday! I’m super stoked. Since Monday also happens to be the first day of school (lame) my co-workers and I are going out for margaritas at Z Tejas today after work. This weekend Jake and I are going to see District 9 with a friend or two, I think. Then, Jake’s taking the whole next week off (I’m so proud of him for taking the time to take care of himself, finally!).
He’s taking me to Restaurant Medizona on Monday for dinner – yum! Then on Thursday one of the senior folks at his office is taking us to Silverleaf to thank him for his work on one of the summer projects – this is a country club so exclusive it’s like $15,000 to join and they won’t even print the menu on their website because they don’t advertise. Imagine, a place so exclusive they try to dissuade people from eating there. I can’t wait!
I’ve also decided to rejoin the campus gym, largely because they added a yoga and pilates membership that you can opt into. Even with the super-premium membership, it’s about half as much per month as the yoga gyms that I was pricing, plus I can go to the regular group exercise classes and use the weight room. Having lost 14 pounds through diet alone, I think that this is the perfect time to start working out – even if I don’t lose any more weight, I imagine I’ll tighten up considerably. Excellent!
