So, as I’ve mentioned several times, Jake is really unhappy in his job and would also like to move to another city, since he grew up here and isn’t so much a fan. I understand, as I moved to Arizona in large part to escape Florida, which I think is a humid, touristy pit of hurricanes, mosquitoes, and despair. He was going to wait until January and then start looking, since if he doesn’t include months on his resume that’ll give him the appearance of three years. Continued

I went to the bookstore on Sunday and read two books: Eat, Pray, Love, by Elizabeth Gilbert, and The Five Love Languages, by Gary Chapman.

As I’ve mentioned before, Jake and I have quite a bit of student loan and credit card debt. I have less debt than he does overall, but proportionally to each of our incomes we owe about the same.
One of the things that sucks the most about paying off debt is that once you’ve done all the big stuff you can (for example, in February we moved into a house a little more than half the size of our previous place, and we also shuffled around our credit cards so he could get better interest rates – my rates were already pretty awesome) then it’s just a whole lot of sitting and waiting for the paying it off part to be done. Which, in our case, means years. Sucky. However, we have made a bit of progress in this area lately due to some windfalls.
Did everyone have a totally sweet Valentine’s Day? YAAAKKK. That was me tossing my cookies. I tried my best to break up with my girlfriend of six months right before V-Day and it almost worked…we broke up for three days after she pulled some sneaky stuff, and I was hoping it would last through the weekend so I could be spared the lameness of actual V-Day activities.
Unfortunately, my scheming didn’t work. We broke up and got back together late Friday the 13th. Smokin’ hot makeup sex ensued, and I was obligated to buy a gift and take her to dinner on Saturday, which is exactly what I did. Things have moved on from there. In case you’re keeping score, that’s FOUR pseudo breakups in the span of six months. Yes, I have a f’ed relationship. What, did you expect the perfect romance?
