Ouch. It didn’t start out that way – I woke up the other morning with a sore neck. This happens periodically if I sleep funny (and I think I’d ended up in the spare bedroom for part of that night because Jake took the good sleeping pills and was snoring…and that bed’s not nearly as nice/comfortable). So I didn’t think too much of it.
But then the next day I went out for sushi and happy hour with a couple of friends and when I got back and saw Jake on the couch, I was overcome and we ended up having crazy sex on the bathroom floor (and P.S., why didn’t I ever realize before that if you have sex in a doorway, you can brace yourself at all sorts of angles that are otherwise impossible?). So, for some time now, I have been feeling like I need to take up yoga again. There has been a lot of unbalance in my relationship (though things are absolutely fantastic right now, if you don’t count the fact that Jake woke me up with his snoring last night). Additionally, work is a bit hellish at the moment, and I have been able to feel my body storing up rage. I got so frustrated loading the dishwasher the other day that I broke two glasses.
So I sucked it up, went down to the campus gym (I work at a university, remember, so we have great facilities) and signed up for the regular gym membership. Then I shelled out extra for the group exercise membership and for the yoga/pilates membership (an extra $200!). The regular gym membership is another $200 although that’s withheld from my paychecks throughout the year and so is pretty painless, but the total that I was shelling out was over $400. For someone who is still trying to pay off credit card debt, that’s a heckuva lotta cash.
Then I went to my first yoga class yesterday, and knew instantly that it was worth it. Continued

So the weekend actually turned out kind of crummy. On Friday, the BF completely forgot that he was going to come home early and cook me dinner, so he came home after 9 p.m. I’d finally given up and had a bowl of sweet pea soup around 8:45 but ended up going to bed hungry. The BF promised that he’d make the fish for lunch the next day.
Well he woke up with a list of errands that he wanted to run…he didn’t get out of bed until after noon, so I asked whether we were still having lunch. Then there was a disagreement about how to cook the fish…he did end up doing it on the grill (which was my preference) but between that and the fact that making lunch didn’t give him enough time to get one of the most important errands (having some dress shirts tailored) done and also we got to the car dealership to pick up our floor mats and wheel covers 20 minutes before they said they would close…and they were closed.
