Last time I checked in I mentioned how I met this cool girl at a 4th of July party. Well, we communicated over Facebook this week and set up a date for drinks this evening. Whoa!! That’s right, an actual first date with a perfectly normal girl that I met not in a bar, club, or crappy dating website. I was starting to think that wasn’t possible. Anyway, I’m pretty psyched because I think we’ll get along great and have a blast.

Totally unexpectedly, I met and attracted a perfectly normal girl at a 4th of July backyard party over the weekend. You read that right, no drunken hookup, no bar makeup, no same-night-lay, and thank the maker NO Match.com chicks. I was beginning to wonder if it was even possible to meet a normal gal the “old fashioned” way, that is to say, via friends at a social event.
I recently had the pleasure of meeting up with Anthony Johnson, aka Dream, one of the top young social artists in the country and the organizer of the 21 Convention. The 21 Convention, originally started as a pickup convention for guys under the age of 21, has evolved into a full blown, all-inclusive event that covers attraction, fitness, nutrition, and personal development. Dream and his team are working hard to make the 21 Convention the biggest and best recurring event on attraction in the world, and with their projected lineup of top shelf speakers, they may achieve that lofty goal this summer. Read more about the 21 Convention and see the lineup at the21convention.com.
I originally found Dream through his blog, The Dream Lounge. There were two things that separated Anthony from the rest of the pack of blogging PUA’s. Firstly, he was young, 19 at the time I started reading. Dream’s stuff was fresh, intelligent, and he tackled his subjects with curiosity and a critical eye. Secondly, he didn’t just write about picking up chicks. His blog delved into life hacking, fitness, and a variety of other subjects. You can find the old blogspot version of his blog here and the new Dreamlounge.net here. I recommend them both. One of my absolute favorite posts, the one that prompted me to ask him for an interview, is where he talks about ditching shoes and trying barefoot running.
Hahahaha, my wingman Lilly and I went out on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend and we had a friggin’ blast. I opened and hooked a handful of sets and generally had my mojo flowing. Lilly had the good sense to take pictures on his iPhone while we were out. Check THIS out:
So it’s been approximately two months since I’ve broken up with Megan and we’re now in this weird zone where we’re not GF-BF, we’re not casually dating, and we’re still sleeping with each other. We’re also technically exclusive. The exclusivity mostly comes from me having suck-ass game right now, as I’ve been on several dates with other women and couldn’t get anything going. Megan has opted not to put herself on the market even though I told her it’s perfectly fine if she wants to do that.
There are pro’s and con’s with this situation and the jury is still out (for me) on whether it’s worth it. I set this situation up on the night of our breakup when I simply said that if she ever wanted to get together for drinks and a sleepover, I would be down with that. Megan was initially against the idea but was clearly intrigued by it. We proceeded to have ass kicking breakup sex that night. And we’ve hooked up many times since.
Discovered this little gem on Mashable.com, I’m adding it to my game immediately.
Contxts are cool text message “business cards” that anyone with a cell phone can access. You set up an account, chose a handle, fill out your contact info, and start giving folks (re: chicks) your username. When someone sends a text with your username to 50500, they get back a text that contains the info you punched into your Contxt account. Typical info would include name, phone number, email, Twitter ID, Facebook ID, IM name, etc etc. You get 140 characters to play with, so really you can put anything in there. Simple and easy.
This way you either ditch the business cards entirely or supplement with Contxts.
Also, it’s totally free. Nice.
