Well I don’t know about you all, but this week keeps getting better and better.
State Fair Fun
Saturday we decided to go to the Arizona State Fair. This was, I think, the third year in a row that we’ve gone, and as usual we had a great time! We did some of the rides and games, Jake bought me a new semiprecious stone for a metal torque/choker that he’d bought me at the same booth last year (I’m liking this tradition), and – the theme of this year’s fair visit – ate everything in sight. Yum, food. Continued

This is Part II of three. You can read Part I here.
First of all, on a side note, Lance has demanded that the BF have a name. Unfortunately, I told the BF he could name himself. So, his name is Jake. Honey and Jake…sigh.
Back on topic…much to my delight, this past weekend reaffirmed just how much Jake and I really do get along when he isn’t being taken to the emergency room or drinking himself into a stupor because of work stress. The best part, however, was what he said on Friday when we were having drinks with his work friend, Dick. Continued

My last post got so many comments that I thought it would be easier to address them in another post. I want to say that I appreciate everyone’s concern and support – just don’t be offended that I’m not taking any of your advice.
Yes, the BF’s had a pretty shitty pattern of drinking lately. Remember, last year his pattern was to not eat or drink, which is how he got his kidney stone. Personally, I think that a kidney stone is a way worse health consequence than being hung over, and the fact that last week was almost one year to the day as the kidney stone just goes to show how specific his stress is to the summertime. He hasn’t had any alcohol since, so we’re both monitoring the situation and going from there.

Seriously, people, I struggled with what to name this post, because I have never seen anything quite like what I saw last night. As I’ve mentioned numerous times before, when I moved to Phoenix I joined my sorority alum club because I figured it would be good networking for both of us, plus a way to meet some women friends.
Well, the outgoing president was having a party at her newly renovated house and since this was the first event that they’d had that I could bring the BF along to, I asked him to join me on my networking adventure. He was understandably skeptical, but I assured him that we could leave at any time if it turned out to be lame.

How are you doing with your new years resolutions? I’ve been meaning to blog my personal goals since the new years, but that post didn’t happen. Well, a month later the topic is still perfectly relevant.
I actually have a system for achieving my resolutions. If you read my post on the subject on TSBMag.com, you’ll see that the key for me is to engage other people (partners or groups). Also, I approach my resolutions as projects rather than just abstract ideas or ambitions.
Here are 3 of the personal projects I embarked on since new years and a breakdown of each one:

Last week we put out a call to all bloggers to talk about what their virginity was worth. Virginity is interesting because it’s one of those moments that’s a big deal until it happens, and then suddenly it’s no longer fascinating. Kind of like turning 21, which seems so important (and is a big deal for awhile), but then after the novelty wears wears off you are having some beer at home or ordering two of your favorite mixed drinks at a local bar instead of getting entirely plastered off of shooters that are only recommended to you because they have racy names (I can’t think of the last time I ordered a Red Headed Slut).
