So, tomorrow is four years to the day that Jake and I met and started a whirlwind and largely long-distance romance. It’s also two years since we moved in together (more or less). I feel so, so lucky to have met such a fantastic partner. Here are some of the things I appreciate most about him:

February 22-28 marks the Animal Legal Defense Fund’s first-ever National Justice for Animals Week, to raise awareness for those who are abused and neglected but can’t speak for themselves. Check out ALDF’s website for more information and activities being held around the country on this issue as well as updates on the good work that ALDF does on behalf of abused and neglected animals.

As you may have guessed from my comments, I don’t love my boyfriend’s dog. And, as owning two cats and no bedroom door (in my soon-to-be given up Flagstaff apartment) may suggest, I had more of my fair share of problems dating. However, pets are a very complicated issue. Here, my totally biased analysis of the pros and cons of having pets (or dating someone who does).
