I am Invincible

invincible2So I discovered this really cool t-shirt company called Reflect from a twitter friend. Hat tip to @stevepavlina who blogged about receiving one of these shirts in his excellent post, how to create real value. Note, I’m not an affiliate of Reflect and I’m not getting anything to write this post.

The concept is simple. The shirts are plain, black tees with an affirmation printed on them in reverse…in other words, if you stand in front of a mirror, the affirmation reads normally. And that’s basically it. I imagine, because the phrases are in reverse, people ask about what it actually says, which is kind of a clever marketing ploy and a nice way to create an opener with strangers.

I rarely do affirmations myself (only having done them regularly once during a difficult stretch years ago), but the phrases are really cool and some of them resonated. Maybe this means I should do affirmations more often? Anyway, I decided to purchase one of the shirts, and I wrangled for a solid 20’ on which one to buy. I mean, I really loved about a half dozen of them, and I couldn’t decide which one represented me the best. I narrowed my list down to these selections:

I Live My Life With Passion

I Create My Reality

I Believe In Myself

I Am A Creative Genius

I Am Invincible

I Have The Strength To Overcome All Obstacles

The last two are from the “athletic performance” category and I could have gone with either, although I loved the Creative Genius phrase also. I finally settled on this one: I am Invincible.

As an athlete, that’s really the thought that goes through my head when I perform. I don’t say it out loud, but simply having that mindset really brings out the best in me on game day.

Which brings me to this exercise. If you could pick only ONE of the affirmation phrases to represent you, which one would it be? Also, do any of you do affirmations regularly? Have a look at the Reflect site and leave your selection in our comments.

I affirm that these other posts also kick ass:

Lance! What an honor! Thank you so much for including Reflect in your post! You chose a great affirmation (but you are right, it’s hard to choose!). Definitely stay in touch. We plan to start a blog in the New Year and would love to include you as well! Happy Holidays!

Cool idea. I like the “I create my reality” one. Btw – I think you DO do affirmations – every blog post is your message to the world reaffirming yourself and how you approach life. Or at least, how you approach women.

Thanks for the shirt idea. Could make a cool xmas gift.

What a cool idea!!

I’m torn between the “I create my reality” and “I believe in myself”

My affirmations change daily, of course depending on what I’m going through. But I do agree with Dads… we affirm ourselves every day with what we’re saying to the world.

Thanks for the links Lance!

Love it! I am a big believer in affirmations and use them daily. I think I’d have to go with “I believe in myself” though there are several others I love too.

I am also a huge affirmation person myself. I actually have one at my computer that reads “I let go of pessimism” I think I would pick “I create my reality” – I like that!
