Happy Birthday from the Universe!
By Honey on Sep 3, 2008 in Life
So I’ve been a little lazy now that Lance is back and has such steamy stories of his Mansformation weekend to share, but now that I’ve actually had my birthday, I decided that an update couldn’t wait any longer! When I last wrote, I was excited about a Birthday Sextacular. The BF was more than happy to oblige and we had sex Friday night and Saturday afternoon (extra oral for the birthday girl)…unfortunately, by Saturday evening he wasn’t feeling great and so our Sextacular had to be cut short. Plus none of the presents that he’d ordered had arrived yet, so there wasn’t much else to be done but claim the TiVo as my birthday present and watch whatever I wanted all day.
Gradually, my presents began to arrive. Throughout the week when I got home I’d find a package on our doorstep (I typically both leave and get home before the BF does). He’d made me promise not to look at the shipping labels, and despite my curiosity I was a dutiful girlfriend and put the boxes (without looking) in a pile on the living room table.
By Friday, everything had arrived, but the BF was exhausted and still not feeling quite right so we decided to wait until Saturday because he had some plans. Turned out those plans were to grill tilapia and make rice and my favorite recipe for summer salad and have that with some sparkling white wine in our dining room, which he’d decorated with sparkly “happy birthday” confetti on the table, lit candles, and happy birthday banners. After dinner I finally (finally!) got to open my presents. I received
- A “Property of Colbert Nation” hoodie
- A Stewart/Colbert 2008 campaign sticker for my car
- A pair of David & Goliath pajamas (very funny…pink with black skulls)
- A David & Goliath umbrella (white with pink and green polka dots…if this seems random it is, it came free with the pajamas)
- My favorite perfume, Urban Decay Pistol perfume oil
- A Rosina Wachmeister cat figurine named Angelo (she’s an artist I discovered when we were in Paris last year, and I love how the faces are like Picasso for cats)

Then we were off to the casino because I’d decided that despite my frugal budget I wanted to spend $160 or so having some fun (we’ve been trying to come up with both the time and money for a Vegas trip but no…dice ;-). The BF won about $160 at poker and I won…drumroll please…about $440 dollars on slot machines! Thus the title of this blog…happy birthday from the universe, indeed!!! We used part of our winnings to buy a Roku (which allows you to use your Netflix account to watch streaming video on your TV without hooking it up to the computer, just to the internet) and I have a long overdue haircut and color this Saturday.
Plus the BF woke up on Sunday finally feeling better and the Sextacular was on once again. Hot sex not only Monday afternoon, but also Tuesday morning (which led to me being an hour late for work and not even caring).
This, combined with the fact that my best friend may soon visit from the East Coast, has me very happy indeed.

Oh, I love the late-for-work-but-that-orgasm-makes-me-not-care sex! I always wonder if everyone at work can tell… but I still don’t care! Ha. Happy birthday, and get that boy some ginseng, echinacea, protein & electrolytes!

Lucky Lady! Sounds like a great birthday - how thoughtful is BF? I want one of those hoodies, too! Looks like the sex/time issues are fixed, and in grand fashion, too.

Holly, yes, he does seem to be prone to getting sick lately. He lets his job stress him out too much, I think, and then on the weekends to de-stress he stays up until 6 a.m. and sleeping until 2 p.m. I’ve tried to explain that this will not relax his body, but…unsuccessful so far.
NewWrldYankee, I really loved all my presents! The hoodie is actually comfortable (I had put it on my gift list as kind of a joke and expected it to be cheap and ill fitting, but it’s not!).
Lisaq, you’re so right! Hopefully the universe keeps smiling as my hair cut and color is with a salon and stylist I’ve never used before. Things could go very right or very, very wrong…
Happy Belated Birthday. Virgos Rock!!!

I have one of those dreaded b-day things coming in just a few days.
You got a Roku? Did you order it online or buy it in a store? I wouldn’t mind getting one, but I hate waiting for stuff in the mail.
I love birthdays. I can’t wait to be in my 30s because I’ve always felt that’s how old I was and it’ll be nice to have the exterior match the interior.
We ordered the Roku online. It came in a little less than a week and it works FANTASTIC.
