So I was put in the somewhat strange position of acting as a wingwoman for a friend while out on a date with the BF. As I think I mentioned, I won $440 at the casino and had decided to use some of the money on a Roku (which works exactly as advertised and we absolutely love it), some on my hair (which looks fabulous–the cut was just a trim but the color is probably the best I’ve ever had it done), and some to take the BF out to dinner at Stingray Sushi in Scottsdale. This was since he a) loves sushi, b) just spoiled me for my own birthday not long ago, and c) he bought a new Blackberry for work and it’s left him a little strapped.
Dinner at Stingray is excellent, and then on the way back to the car we’re debating the various merits of staying out for a few drinks since we’re in a nicer area of town and we don’t go out nearly as often as we used to (not because of lame-couple-itis, but because of having-a-job-and-getting-old-itis).

We end up at Dos Gringos, partly because it is a fun bar but largely because our car is parked right in front of it, and decide to text some friends and see if they want to come out. We employ the last-minute text quite a bit because a) you look like you have an awesome social life and those at home feel lame, b) hardly anyone ever comes because they are all getting old and have jobs too, so you don’t have to be as “on” as you think you will, and c) you get friendship bonus points for thinking of them. (One of many highlights of the Mansformation Weekend)
In case you didn’t know, and there’s no way you could have because I didn’t announce it, I did an extended weekend in the Dominican Republic as an attendee of TSBMag’s Mansformation Retreat. TSBMag maintains an awesome men’s resource website: http://www.tsbmag.com. I want to give TSBMag and the hosts, Bobby Rio and Mike Stoute, some love before throwing out the lay reports and insights later in the week. Continued

So this week the BF and I went to Prescott for 3.5 days (he had to go for work and since I start my new job tomorrow I figured this would be the last chance I’d have to get away…and Prescott is about 20-25 degrees cooler than Phoenix so it was a nice getaway). I had a great time! The BF was off working during business hours but I got to hang out with him at night (he was really glad I was there, I guess his work was pretty tedious during the day and he didn’t want to be alone at night), and during the day explore the town and do my own thing. Okay, so recently I met this great chick while traveling for work. I picked her up, closed her, and generally had a great time for a couple of days. Remember how I talked about having a plan with every potential partner you date or meet? You should form a good idea if the person is LTR material, one nighter, fuck buddy, or nothing, in which case you need an exit strategy.
This girl I’m talking about is super cool and I want to maintain some kind of relationship with her, but a long distance relationship is out of the question. So I set up what I call a long distance fuck buddy (LDFB) arrangement. Basically, what it boils down to is that we’ll meet on party trips or in other cities to have adventures together. I’ve had a couple of friends pull this off successfully, and the idea really crystallized after reading Brad P’s ebook where he described several similar type arrangements he maintained.

Holy balls, on Friday I the best sex of my life. I debated writing this post because it’s simply too damned durty, but screw it there is some good stuff there. Plus, all of my blogging friends are getting laid–here, here, and here–so what the hell.
Obviously, you’ll want to watch this video first:

On Saturday of the Retreat we awoke at 6:00 am, drove out to a bus stop, and took the bus to the mountains for a whitewater rafting trip. Travel time one-way was 3 hours. If you visit the DR and have never done whitewater rafting, try it, it’s awesome. You can go to any tour shop and sign up…there’s only one outfit, and it’s in Jarabacoa.
For US$60, you get a bus ride on an air conditioned bus, breakfast at the ranch, a 2.5 hour rafting trip down a decent rivier, and then lunch and drinks. It’s an amazing deal, especially when you consider rafting trips in the US can cost $100 or more. Rather than blog about it, you can view a highlight video on TSBMag.com. God bless those guys.
