A quick update – spring is by FAR the busiest time of year at my job…two out of the three main stressors, though, are out of the way (Thursday and Friday of last week). Unfortunately, I woke up Thursday with a horrible crick in my neck, and couldn’t call in because of the aforementioned huge projects that I was in charge of. Saturday morning when my arm started to go numb, Jake took me to urgent care and I’ve been blissed out on vicodin and muscle relaxers ever since.

May 14 is the next big ick and then things should be fairly smooth sailing for the rest of the summer. Jake has made plans to go with me on my work trip to London (I bought the plane ticket and received my reimbursement deposit, so it’s official!) so he should actually be traveling internationally with me during the time of year that he’s usually under the most stress. A very, very good thing.

I took today off work because of my back. The doctor at urgent care said I should get a primary care physician because if this happens again – it already happened at New Year’s – then it probably means I will need physical therapy. So that’s the next thing. I was feeling good enough (read: doped up enough) to have hot sex with Jake last night (though in this case “hot sex” means him giving me oodles of oral sex and then being on top the whole time since I couldn’t do anything else – hey, works for me!) and he was so afterglow-y that he took me out to lunch today because his schedule at work was relatively clear and I was all he could think about 😉

In fun news (or the next stressor that will lead to physical therapy), Jake says that we should pick a wedding location and put down a deposit sometime in the last month. I posted a Facebook update saying as much and threw everyone for a loop because we’re not actually engaged yet. At lunch today Jake said that yeah, a week or so ago he realized that he hadn’t put that into his wedding timeline anywhere, so we’ll see when that happens (our 4-year anniversary is in 3 weeks but that may be too soon to move on this, I’d say Christmas at the latest, maybe my birthday in August – I sent him links with the rings I want a long time ago). So we are going to pick 3 places, check them all out, and get that done. Kind of exciting, kind of scary. I’ll post pics of the eventual location, and maybe even the final 3 and let everyone weigh in.

Really I don’t have too much to update on these days. Jake and I get along great and only wish that we didn’t work so much so that we could spend more time together – hopefully we get a vacation this summer aside from my work getaway. I’m a bit behind on my credit card payback because I maxed out my dental allowance and also went to the eye doctor (actually tried to pick up my contacts today but they’re closed on Mondays now, stupid economy…). less than $2K so I should definitely be able to pay it off before the end of the year. I did apply for another job at my current employer (not a faculty position, an administrative one this time) that I am probably a good fit for and which would literally double my salary. Keep your fingers crossed!

And now my next vicodin is kicking in and so I’m correcting too many misspellings to make typing worth it anymore. Hope everyone’s doing great!
