A Hot Guy Sent Me Chocolate Covered Strawberries

So, I’ve been helping one of my ex students from back in the day get into grad school.  As a token of appreciation, he sent me a dozen gourmet chocolate covered strawberries from Shari’s Berries.

Since it is a bit unusual for me to receive refrigerated Fed Exes at work (to say the least), the coworker who accepted the package insisted that she watch while I open it.  I knew he was sending me a present but I didn’t know what it was…sweet!  I shared a few berries around for the people I like the most at work and then when I went home I said to Jake,

“So, a totally hot 25-year old guy sent me chocolate covered strawberries today.  What are you going to do?”

Jake: “Eat them!”

Valentines day this year for my second date with my fiance, I wanted to do something special, and she had mentioned that she loves strawberries on the first date. So I went to Shari’s Berries and got her a six pack of gourmet strawberries (and a pink rose), and it went over exceedingly well.

So yes, while a bit pricy, they’re worth getting if you want to impress someone.

@ Mr_Right, way to go! I myself am not a fan of those types of gestures from people I don’t already know well, but it sounds like she is – which is all that’s important!

Yes, T, it is! I have to say that he thought it was funny that a guy would have any other reaction :-)

Believe me, they were, DM!

Eh, you two sound like an old married couple already; he shoulda said “eat me!” (and then, you should have obliged!) ;-)

Happy T-day; be sure to stop by my new, improved (like a blog on Botox!), http://www.katwilder.com, when it debuts Dec. 1.
